Paul’s designs always push the envelope with regards to browser abilities and current practices. It is always challenging and fun to work with him. This would be a great site to revisite with CSS Grid and Flexbox. (Would have made code so much lighter)
This project turned out to be more of a challenge than originally thought. Several challenges presented themselves during the course of the job. It is a responsive design. (Note: I haven’t added any small screen samples yet)
One of the biggest challenges was the switch from ExpressionEngine to WordPress. Originally, we quoted the job for EE (my favourite CMS) but somewhere two thirds into the development the did a 180 and asked us to create the site using WordPress.
We created several custom features in the WP install. I learned a few new techniques and have been making some notes as to how to improve some of the functionality should I get to re-visit the site again.
For now, I’m pretty happy with it.
